I was just wondering what kind of parties everyone else is using. I'm not looking for feedback on my party, I don't want to know what challenges lie ahead. My party, which I will finish the game with no matter what, is:
Dracon Fighter Rawulf Valkyrie Mook Ranger Human Gageteer Elf Bishop Elf Mage (I always had a spot for battle mages)
It was its weaknesses, but I think it will be strong enough.

I am bound and determined to finish the game with my current party. (jersey, vessele, I hear you both laughing, stop it ) The party: Dracon Fighter Dracon Fighter Hobbit Ranger Hobbit Bard Gnome Priest Gnome Mage Pretty basic, I know. And probably not hte strongest possible party. But I am resigning from re-starters anonymous, and finishing the damn game! And this party rocks pretty hard, they are each very damn good at their jobs. The pairs are for rp reasons, I envision this as the "Love Boat goes to hell" party.

Who? What? Me laugh? I wouldn't laugh at you Merkin. Moving on.. My team: Felpurr Samurai Rawulf Lord Elf Ranger Human Bard Elf Bishop Mook Psionic They are all at level 13 now and are doing excellent. I want to play with other parties when I finish this one, but like others I am really attached to my bard. Don't know if I could play without one now.

I don't post messages much, but since I'm stuck here at work with nothing to do (yes... I have to work on Christmas. Sucks to be me ) I am working 2 different parties: 1st the bowling ball... let it go and watch the pins fly. (pure brute force/little finesse/zero imagination) Lizardman Fighter (sword/mace) Lizardman Fighter (sword/mace) Lizardman Fighter (polearm) Lizardman Fighter (polearm) Lizardman Rogue (sword/dagger) Elf Mage -> Bishop at first level up. (many benefits for doing this IMHO) 2nd group (slightly less brute force, and more finesse) Lizardman Fighter (mace and flail) Lizardman Fighter (polearm) Lizardman Rogue (sword/dagger) Human Monk Rawulf Priest -> Valkyrie at first level up. (surprisingly well rounded character) Elf Mage -> Bishop at first level up. One thing I started to think about (when not counting ceiling tiles here at work) was a monk dualed to a fighter after maxing martial arts (and maybe stealth) could be an incredable powerhouse. This is assuming that he/she could still use martial arts as a fighter. Anyone tried this yet?

My latest party (probably doomed to be exterminated shortly though) is as follows: All are around level 10 Male Lizardman Fighter > (a real smash em in the face type guy, very handy to have) Female Dracon Valkerie > (she is really starting to pull her weight with her polearms though I'm starting to doubt my choice of a Dracon) Male Felpurr Ranger > (has just started to have critical hits but otherwise not much use in fights) Male Rawulf Priest > (I should not have chosen so many magic realms to study) Female Human Bard > (I hope she finds some stronger instruments soon as I really like her) Female Elven Mage > (starting to doubt if you really need a mage in this game as the offensive spells just dont seem to have much clout) Myles and Vi are also tagging along > Vi is a great fighter and I just love Myles's attitude This is my 3rd party and they have survived nicely till now. Their weaknesses are starting to outshine their strengths I think I might just try and get some hints on dualing though. I have never done this before and it might just help my next party. Then again maybe all my parties will suck (Now where was that editor download site again? ;D ) Knip

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Knip, but you spelled your login name "Kinp" instead of "Knip". On the other hand, Bards *rock* in this game. You'll find so many great instruments that you'll have to choose which ones you want in your inventory. But it will take some time and travelling to get them; in the meantime, you'll just have to be content with what you've already got.

My lead group is pretty classic. These are my "explorers" They go out fumbling and report back to me so I can inform my other two groups on strategy. They are:
(All Human) Lord Samaurai Ranger Bishop Bard Gadgeteer current helpers: Valkyrie and monk
Then there are what I call ma "Might" and Magic" groups. ;D
Might:
Raewulf Lord /Dual SwordandDagger -Bow Felpur Samurai /Dual Swords -Throw Dracon Fighter /Dual Mace -Bow Dracon Fighter /Axe and Shield -Bow Elf Bishop /Wizard, Psi, some Alchemy -Staff and Sling Dwarf Priest /Piety - Mace and Sling backup: Valkyrie/(Rogue, short term)/Monk
Magic:
Raewulf Priest Fairy Mage Elf Psionic Elf Alchemist Felpur Ninja (Thrown Crits) Mook Ranger (Bow) Backup: Bard/Gadgeteer
I guess that technically, if I wanted to be pure, I wouldn't have given any magic to my Might group, but I'm just too chicken for that. My Bishop and Priest are getting good at their weapons too.
As for the magic group, I'm still debating whether to make them "pure" magic by replacing the Ninja and Ranger with Bard and Gadgeteer and picking up a RPC Ranger as backup. Only problem is, I'm not too impressed with my Gadgeteer in my Explorer group. They're level 11 and I still haven't gotten that many useful gadgets.
Besides, is Gadgeteer really Magic? His gadgets are mechanical, I would assume they get past any magic resistances, right? Hmm... I may post that as a seperate question.
