Hello. To anyone who finished the game...about how many gaming hours are needed to finish it, first time though? Someone on another board gave me the impression that I'm about 1/3 of the way through it, and if so I'm really disapointed.

depends on how you play! are you a maniac? gotta do everything and talk to everyone?
i am. i got about halfway before the new patch stopped me cold. and i put in approximately 80 hours to get there. that's just with one party, going thru.
remember tho, i spend time on the between town roads and in the wild areas hunting wabbits, tho! because i like it. and i talk to everyone in every town lots.
my bf, also stopped in his tracks by the patch, got totally finished in 75 hours (except for the endgame!) and he RACES thru, not stopping to talk to anyone except the essential people. thats only doing the main quests. he got totally twisted trying to figger them out and said "forget it".
does that help?

I haven't finished, but I hear it's roughly 70-80 hours if you race through it, up to 200 hours if you explore everywhere, do all sub-quests, etc. And if you're addicted to party and character creation like I am, you can spend 500 hours without ever getting to Arnika.

LOL Merkin. You really are addicted aren't you? Many people on the other boards are now starting to come back and say they have finished the game. I still have no idea where they find the time. I can only play a few hours a night IF I am lucky, and I restarted once and now am only getting my 2nd missions from the Umpani and T'rang. I haven't yet been to Bayjin or to the Rapax. I figure it will take me until nearly spring to finish for the first time. Maybe.

This is my third party and I have got as far as the swamps (which I dont think is all that far into the game) but Im starting to get my butt kicked. Each party I have created has progressed further into the game so on my reckoning I have about another 200+ hours, IF I make it to the end. I probably wont ever finish this game without cheating But at this stage I am just enjoying seeing how different parties cope fighting the monsters. ProgressiveChem, you may be 1/3 of the way through, but you may find that you will need to change your party to make it through the tougher fights. I hope for your sake the game does last longer than your expecting ;D

As far as I'm concerned, the longer the game lasts, the better. Lots of games today are too short and lack substance in exchange for fancy movies and graphics. Maybe its the reason I played AC for so long...thanks for the feedback. I'm somewhat meticulous, so I'm aiming for 125 hours.

Does anyone think that they can end the game in under 24 hours?

~~mescaline450mg~~ i am sure it can be done. but, like doing "0 Day" in M&M*, you have to play the game thru a lot, and get your variations/definitions down. since it's a great game with lots of replay value in it, i am sure we'll see game vars like that cropping up soon. LOL!! as for me, i want to start my own game var... oh, something on the lines of "6000 Days on the Arnika/Trynton Road". V***V *in "0 Day" you have to do all the quests given to you, choose Light or Dark path, you MUST do the NWC dungeon & you can't use editors or exploits (specifically save/reload chests & stores to get better stuff OR the double body bug)... my point in saying that was certain rules should be agreed upon ahead of time so that there is a level playing field. plus there's a rule about game saves. it's not strictly speaking Ironman, but its definitely related... maybe Son of Ironman? PS: oh, and the most imp question of all: by 24 hours you mean 24 hours in the game ~~ one ingame day, right?
