Using items on party members

Can I use potions on other party members?  Or are smelling salts the only item that works that way?

Seems like if I can cast a spell on a party memember I ought to be able to use a potion, too.

BTW, I only found out about smelling salts by accident...  is it actually mentioned in the manual anywhere??

You can't use potions on other people -- no forcing the liquid down anyone else's throat, sorry.

Lots of stuff isn't mentioned in the manual....
