I am beginning to HATE the automap. vesselles has helped me on this topic before (tanks) but it is still annoying the hell outa me. I keep getting lost! The beauty of previous Wiz games was the 2D aspect when it came to the automap. Simple....move one space and that block was noted. This multi level thingy on the one map is driving me crazier than I already am. I drop items (potions) when I remember, so I can tell what level I'm on (re vesselles) and that works but its just so hard to distinguish exactly where I can go. I do the typing thing at points but sometimes the map opens on a level that I am not actually in and I type it in only to find out later that I typed it in on the wrong level. I know its probably my fault but it would have been nice if SIRTECH had just made the automap screen specify what level you were on at the time you open up the automap. Anyone else have the heebie geebies with the automap? Maybe I have over looked a setting or sumthing. I thought Trynton was bad enough but Martyns Bluff is worse! I'm going to have to resort to a walkthrough......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Not your fault, knip, I think some people just don't do well with maps. Yes it can get pretty confusing when there are multi levels. What I do mostly is try to ignore the levels and just mark certain doorways, and NPC's, elevators, stuff like that. I really think the best way is to just keep wandering around. I've noticed that after awhile I don't even rely on the map. I recognise landmarks, and remember where to go. I see a certain painting and know to turn right to find a certain area, that kind of thing. After awhile it becomes automatic, as if you were navigating in the real world. Of course, if you don't have a good sense of direction in the real world, I guess that would transfer into the game too. All I can say is, keep on keeping on and good luck. judee
