Okay, Vesselle, this is your fault! Absolutely!
After reading about your Magickal Mistresses and how very very brave you are to make a group with two gadgeteers and literally no brute force, well, I decided I was being a wimp with my Mighty Misfits by giving them both a Bishop and a Bard. That's two characters with primary magical backup!!! Shame on me! Do I want to create Mighty Men or wimpy little mice hiding behind buffed magic??
Anyway, I gulped down my pride and revised them. Besides, they weren't even out of the Monastery yet.
This is going to require a whole different kind of strategy than I am used to playing. Even my Explorers (who are doing quite well, btw) started out as a mixed/balanced group but are turning into a Ranged group (to the great chagrin of my Samaurai!). It's just my natural way of playing. Call me chicken if you will, I just don't like wading into the frey and putting my precious character creations at risk!
And I've never used potions, except the occasional poison cure. Always relied on buffer magic andhealing. In other games too, M&M i always concentrated on magic.
Well, as I said, nothing could match the bravery of V***V's Magickal Mistresses. Unless, of course, I try the opposite, fully and completely. A group of Mighty Male Misfits, completely unprotected from the wizardly forces of Magic, unable to identify items except by their wit in artifacts (gag! that's a tough one! Just how high does artifacts have to be to work consistently?) Never to remove a cursed dagger! (double gag!) Relying on potions for healing.
Gasp! Can they do it? Will I later succomb to the temptation to give magical points to my Monk and Ranger and Lord? Only time will tell.
Here they are, my Mighty Misfits: (drumroll please)
Lizard Fighter - dual Mace, bow
(If it walks, I'll take care of it!)
Draco Fighter - Axe and Shield, crossbow
(You want me fight, I fight!)
Raewulf Lord - dual Sword/dagger, sling
(a fully Scottish Lord)
Human Monk - Martial Arts, Throw, sling
(The hero who writes a book about it)
Elf Ranger - Bow, Crossbow, Artifacts.
(le francais)
Human Rogue - dual Dagger, Locks, Pickpocket
(the bored Harrison Ford)
Keep your fingers crossed for these Mighty Misfits. They may look tough, but I shudder to think of their encounter with the Sorceress Queen and such.
Onward!!!! ;D ;D ;D
