These are a few things that have come up in my mind lately, especially in running my Misfits game, with no magic. (Except "Light", everyone's gotta have light, right?)
Anyhoo...
1. What attribute effects the distance walked when you choose the walk option in combat? My Misfits are definitely going to be a "charge forward" kind of group. So they need to move up and close as fast as possible, giving those cultists and whatnot fewer chances to magickally immobilize the poor magickally-challenged guys. I would think it's Speed if anything, but then is movement based on the slowest or fastest? Or... is it standard for everyone. All battle movement the same no matter what the attributes? Anyone know for sure?
2. Will non-identified weapons and armor function as their true purpose, or do they function as a standard item until identified? I know for certain rings, etc, you still get the protecion even if it's un-id'd. But does it work the same for weapons? If I have a sword, for ex, that I know from previous experience gives +40% damage, will it still do so even if I don't officially ID it?
3. Has anyone run across scrolls to uncurse? Are they buyable, and if so, where? I want to know if I can equip a certain cursed weapon while waiting to find another uncursed but stronger one. I assume the uncurse scroll would be available somewhere, but honestly I've never paid attention because I've almost always had a bishop in my group. (Or a magicker who learns the spell.)
4. Is there any way to know how many hp or whatever have been drained from a ch without having to go back and read through the battle text? I'm not sure I want to waste a potion if it's only something like 2 hp drained. (Something that did happen to my gadgeteer.)
Okay, that's all I can think of.
Thanks for any help!

Movement is based on your SLOWEST character. Good idea in a fighter-type party not to let anyone fall too far behind. 2.No idea 3. Not yet, but then, as you know, I have yet to make it out of TRynton, though. 4.Just right-click on their portrait. Even during battle, this will bring up the character screen and tell you hp's remaining/total hp's. Or just watching the blue bar drop in the prtrait gives you a rough idea.

Thank you, your Merkinness. Er, just a not on that number 4. I wasn't talking about hit points normally taken, but about drained hit points. Nothing to do with the blue bar. Drained points result in a permanent loss and can only be replaced by a particular (unnamed, no spoilers here) potion that is rather expensive. When you are drained you get a little red blooddrop by your portrait. That's all I'll say about it cause I don't want to spoil you. The only way I know of to really know how much has been drained (other than checking the battle text) would be if I kept track of the normal hp level, then compared it to the new drained level. But I don't generally write that stuff down as I go. I was just wondering if there was an easier way to figure out what had been drained. Um, but that's okay, Merkin, you answered as best you can. I know you've never been out of Trynton. Most of the draining creepos are further along in the game. Thanks for the help on the battle movement, I'll be sure not to let any of my characters be too slow. judee

2 things, ya know that Light makes monsters see you from farther away, right? Okay, just makin sure Also, non-id'd weapons work just fine, such as the one in Arnika. 3rd (ya ya) you can MAKE those potions... if you have fairly high Alchemy... which that party probably won't, but they are avail. that way, which is mucho cheaper ya know.

Hi judee, Sorry, I mis-read your question. I have been drained a couple of times, don't know of any way to keep track of how much without either writing it down, or scrolling back through the text.

The only answer that I know is #2 Like said before even if it is not identified the item will work fine. My samauri was walking around with some pants that I couldn't identify quite yet for awhile but her stats seem to go up when I gave it to her so I let her keep if for awhile When I did get it identified nothing changed her stats

i haveta agree with tenjii on #2.....
but with an embellishment. i found a helm in the Lower Monastery ( you might be able to extrapolate from what i am about to say which particular helm it was ).
un-ID'd, i slapped it on. my stats changed, but it started glowing bright red! it was cursed. so far, all the cursed weapons i have found do that. (since i know these particular cursed items, it was easy to compare before and after to arrive at that conclusion.)
that seems to indicate that, once equipped all aspects of all items are recognized by the game and applied, even if they remain hidden to you.
:: mutters under her breath, "or maybe, i'm just nuts"::
i gots to say that ST has one collective SICK sense of humor! making cursed things known to you when you equip them and can't take 'em off.... harrumph!! ya think they went out of their way to find sick designers? like the employment app has a box next to "got any mental defects?" and anyone who checked it was hired? LOL.
V***V
~~PS~~
RE: the moving around thingie/question, since party movement is based on personal initiative, i think if you concentrated on SPEED ATTRIBUTE, you couldn't go wrong!!
