Ok so I'm in the monastery again. (jersey, vesselle, hush ) When I actually see something new! The king crab, when I pureed him (can't believe I ever thought he was tough, btw) turned into "crab-cakes"! Not very important, just some minor healing, but damn, it was nice to see something break the monotony! (And THIS time, I really do have the party I'm sticking with all the way... I DO!, I tell ya. )

Yeah, right. Uh huh. I believe it. So tell me, who is this wonderful party that sticks? Lol, I just created a party I call the "Misfits" because I'm using the portraits and voices that I didn't particularly care for during the first go rounds. They're kinda growing on me... In fact, they may become my favorites. Go figure. ;D ;D judee

LOL! I'm SO busted... This party is simplicity itself: Sylvester and Bridgette, a pair of Drac Fighters, both learning Sword, Bow, and close.
Muir, a Hobbit Ranger, Bow, Ranged, and Alchemy (Myth until lev. 5)
Courtney, Hobbit Bard, Music, Locks and PP, of course (and getting decent with sling/thrown)
Bernard, Rawulf Priest, Water and Divine focus
Tessla, Elf Mage, Fire, Air, Earth (with a bit to the other realms as well)
I've had this line-up before, but am developing them a bit differently this time. For one, EVERYONE gets one SPD pt. each lev. Already at lev.6 party gets group initiative on most mobs, and this will only get better. For another, Mage and Priest are really focusing on buff and immobilization spells. Unbelievable how quickly and easily most battles go when you open with web, web, sleep, then let your fighters hack em to bits.
I should be in Arnika by this afternoon (my usual place to decide if a party is "working" or not) but I really do think this one is a keeper.

I didn't laugh Merkin. Really.
Okay, I giggled a little. ;D That's okay though. I started 2 new games yesterday and promptly dumped them to try again. (I am still playing my first team--all about level 13 and doing the Umpani and T'rang quests).
I like the "misfits" idea judee. Great way to play the rest of the voices. Cool. 8)

Merkin - You should change your priest into a bishop so that you can use all the cool spell books that you get throughout the game.

Heh, too bad you have a bard instead of a Gadgetman, no nifty cool XBows fer you, wink wink. Other than that, solid party, but I too would not waste a slot on a Preist, just me though Mayhap Priest level one, then as soon as stats permit, Bishop.

I'm still with this group, right now the've just gotten back to Trynton after FINALLY getting out of the cemetary dungeon. Got to see the Shaman, then I'm done with Trynton for now. They're 11th-12th lev, and holding their own, but I'm seeing some balance/development problems that I didn't earlier. Sen for the mage and Bishop are seeming more crucial to me, and I am REALLY wishing I had saved some spell picks. But I'm not dumping this group, might just have to run another one on the side. I've starrted GANGS since I first posted this...but haven't stuck with any of them.

::gets all concerned:: OK! the clarion call goes out! Time for Intervention, guys! we gotta save him from himself. judee, grab his mouse. kragorn, take the cd outta the drive and turn his rig off.
::puts a cold cloth on merk's forehead:: it's okay. it's really for the best. just eat a tiny bit. not much, just a little. ::slaps his hand:: not the cheetohs! repeat after me "cheetohs, bad! apples, good!"
( hopes no one discovers the subterfuge and overlooks how bad some of the rest of us are ::rolls her eyes:: )

~~kragorn~~
you're prolly right about that.
besides, methinks the sneaky merkin must have a laptop stashed away somewhere, likely with the demo installed on it, plus various groups from way back! after all... i do!
