Best race for the samurai

What do you guys think ? Which's the best race for a samurai
who won't only specialise in combat, but also somewhat in wizardry ?

Read the "Spotlight Samurai" carefully as it gives important details about building what he calls the "Perfect Samurai", ie. one using magic.  Also take care to note that the "Best race for..." articles on jandrall's site are written for a purely fighting character, ie. it totally ignores the magic side.

Always consider that all hybrids' magic is going to be second-rate compared to a pure spellcaster, the Valk is the easiest one to raise with magic abilities because she really only has 2 important skills leaving you 3 points per level-up to put into magic.

BTW, please don't think I'm being unhelpful merely giving you a couple of URLs, it's just that this is such a complex issue (character building) and the Samurai is one of the hardest ones to raise if you wish to use their magic skills as well, these sites contain a treasure trove of useful information.
