It seems that there are several advantages given to female characters in the game. Are there any advantages for male characters? Is there *any* reason you'd want a male character, other than role-playing or flavor?

I agree that other than for rp'ing, there doesn't seem to be any reason to have guys in your party. When I found the first few female only items, I kept waiting for a male-only one to show up...still waiting.

LOL! you know, i have had the Blonde Brigade from day one, and have YET to find any girl only accessories! it was making me crazy to hear everyone talking about them, while my poor little bard was jonesing for that lady only stamina regen thingie. altho she really prefers the way her little ankh looks, i know she woulda junked it in a hearbeat for the ability to make her music more often. so, i started a mixed gender group (the Redheaded Stepchildren!) just to try out some other classes, and still haven't found any. boo hoo! however, they just got on the arnika road, so it's not really a big deal. they have high hopes! i just hate missing out on any goodies! i am such an extreme packrat extraordinaire. Okay, here goes... In Arnika. In Braffit's temple (or whatever it's called.) The passage that goes underground and exits in front of the weapon shop. You can go down to another area, where there is a locked door with a bunch of tough dead guys behind it. Skip that door if you aren't tough enough. Through another doorway and down a small passage another door. Inside there are a few items, no monsters. Mostly potions. Turn on your search capacity and walk around. One necklace will appear on the floor next to the platform on the far left. Another is on the platform itself to the far right. I know you can get one of these with plain search, at least I did. The second one may require a bit of insistence, depends on how high your highers characters senses are. I found both with a ranger in my party. Another party, found both with no ranger but "searching" and a third party, no ranger, I needed to do the "search for secrets" spell to find the second one. They've both been in there each time I've looked, with different games, so it doesn't appear to be a random thing. Happy hunting! judee

thanks judee!!
i had to restart everything from scratch, and was gonna head north on the arnika road, instead of doing arnika first, but i just changed my mind. ::smiles really big::
i never was able to figure out when to use detect secrets, so it's gonna be fun using it for that.
happy holidays!!!

One of the items for Ferro's Custom Armour is Female only. Look out for it and keep it stored somewhere together with all those hogar tusks, vampire wings...etc. Male only items, did someone ever mentioned the cameo locket (that is one cool item!!)? Another is the chiefian scepter which is quite useless unless you are very low in exp level.

~~knip~~
its not just the yakking, but there's all the times they demand we go shopping! LOL!
you shoulda seen them fly thru Arnika the first time! LOL. killed everything in sight so that they could sightsee at their leisure and go window shopping.
we were at antone's, for a LONG time, going over every little thing he had and asking him questions about all the stuff we liked AND the stuff we didn't like, and getting customized leather pants, when he interrupted us.....
"I am NOT your friend. I am NOT your pal. Nor am I your consultant. See this? ::shakes his axe around in our faces a bit:: GRRRRRR!! Make your decision!"
LOL. do you think that fazed them? they were all whispering to each other... "well, i never!!", "my money is as gold as anyone else's", "shsssh! just buy it and lets go, girls", "wait! i just wanna find out if it comes in pink", "uh,not a good idea, Aria", "comeon, i'll buy you one too, just give me another second", ::grabbing them by their purses, "we're going NOW, girls. I MEAN IT!!", "but wait, i want my customized fairy plate".... and so on and so on and so on!

hi! ahhh! this is where my favorite saying comes into play: "the game provides" <br> and it does in this instance. there is a way around that, and if anyone can do it, it will be the Blonde Brigade. it involves some special armor and a special potion. actually has the sound of something rather "kinky".... and underhanded .... and rather smart. heh. right up the BB's alley! linda has posted it a time or two, so coming from the mouth of the game goddess herself, i plan on trusting the game and going for it! V***V PS: i was soooo dying to make a comment about your reference to a "male member" ..... i can't believe i held back. whoops, guess i didn't hold back after all.
