LOL!!
i KNOW that band, and, spydah, that song is one i used to play a LOT and go around singing, as it especially irritated my 'rents and bros. ;D along with the slow, soothing strains of ~~
"comon dad! gimme the car tonite. comon dad! i need the car!"
i might even have that old cd around somewhere.... heheheh. i always loved that name too...violent femmes!!
::thinks:: but it would haveta be an all-boy group! uh oh ::the cranky, slow sound of wheels grinding in her head:: UH OH!! now you went and did it. i really have been curious as to the male voices and what they are like.
::tottles off to go sit around the campfire and throw numbers and pictures and sounds around, to make the perfect boy band::

Hi all - I just found this group, and it seems like there is a wealth of information here! I figured I would pick your brains. Vesselle seems to know quite alot about everything there is to know about the game!
Currently, my party is about 14th level. I think the way it stands is:
Monk Ranger 12 Fighter -> 3 Samurai Priest Gadgeteer and a level 14 mage.
Now, I was thinking if its worth it to change the mage to a Bishop. I want a bishop, but not if its going to take another 18 levels to get high level spells.
Is it worth it to start over?
What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?
And is there a max level for pcs?
Thanks! ;D

Hey, I saw the Femmes at Woodstock long time ago And speaking of Boy Bands, anyone here watch Mad TV? They completely rip on N-Sync, and its just wet-your-pants funny. I should check the usenet board and see if anyone uploaded any of their skits

Well, so much for the bishop then ;D Yup, you start with a level 1 bishop but level-up at your current level so that means level 32 before you get any level 7 spells you haven't got now ... not much of a bargain really Personally I haven't played characters up to that level yet but I see absolutely no benefit whatsoever I'm afraid. About the only high-level change which seems to be generally viewed as doable is a spellcaster->fighter-type (as appropriate to the spellcaster's school, eg. Psionicist->Monk).

btw, Just out of curiosity, why didn't you mix the magic up? Mage Priestess Psionic Alchemist Gadgeteer Bard *Merkin gets that Homer Simpson glaze in his eyes..."ummmm, fresh paarty"* You're kidding, right? ;D OTOH, not sure about the bard and gadge, I think a more formidable front-line of rogue and fighter (okay, so they're not magic based) but at least you'll get pure spellcasters of each school rather than having to raise bishops.

Um, KraGorn...
He may have been kidding, but I took him seriously, and created almost exactly that group. Minus the Psi who wasn't needed with everyone else. Replaced the Psi with a Fairy Ninja:
Fairy Ninja Hobbit Bard Hobbit Gadgeteer Dwarf Priest Elf Mage Elf Alchemist
They picked up Saxx for a second Bard and Sparkle for some long range Crits. Turning into by far my favorite group!
Heheh, and you know what? They are Level 9 now and so far there is nothing they can't handle, and then some! Talk about Fireworks!!!
I just love my Magickers. ;D ;D ;D

Why drop the Psi? In the short time I had her my mage/psi bishop made me quite partial t a quick Insanity 'Fraid a Ninja just doesn't appeal to me, the CoC could be nice but I don't feel like 'n' reloads to get it and I'm not sure I know how to play one properly anyway However, since I loved M&M6 using only magic then I think I'll give Wiz8 a similar go, lemme see ... Dracon Rogue, Dwarf Priest - my front-line and flank. Mook Ranger - can't do without some sort of ranged physical attack Faerie Psi - For speed to get high init. Elf Mage - standard issue Gnome Alchemist - the manul says gnomes are good for these I don't hold out much hope these guys will ever leave the monastery, and I certainly can't see them leaving Arnika but at least they'll cure my desire for magic ;D

I was afraid of that after I had checked out some of the web pages that were talking of how leveling up worked. I'm sure I could find some editor that would change his profession, but then that would take all the fun out of playing the game! I would ask for some other suggestions, but, It seems like the jury is out on what kinds of parties to make! Does anyone have any suggestions on definate DON'Ts? Thanks for the help!

Daedalus, Max level is 50. Not that you will even get close if you just paly through the game, even at a leisurely pace you'll prolly not get higher than 30ish with the fast-leveling types. If you want to know why, take a look at www.spydah.com/wiz8/classes/class.asp?class=Monk and hit the Experience Table link (In gold near the top)... 2.2 BILLION exp to get him to 50 ;p Good luck

It's because this game is so well balanced that there IS so much discussion Unless you go insane and try 6 fighters or 6 bishops then pretty much any party will work. You have two basic choices: 1) are you mainly melee or ranged attack 2) are you more physical or magical Me, I prefer ranged, so go with at least two good ranged attackers, currently a pair of rangers, plus a front-line with ranged/magic attacks rounded off with one or two spellcasters, again spells being ranged attacks/defense. Others prefer a lot more magic and take three specialist spellcasters and maybe a bard who can also cast spells and rely on only a couple of front-line fighters for phyiscal damage, while the rest will take heavy-duty meleers and maybe only a single bishop or the traditional mage/priest. It's all about the emphasis of the party, any party having a mixture of melee/ranges/magic will suffer the same ... this game is tough ;D

Thats good to know What are your thoughts on the Gadgeteer? They seem to be a useful rogue replacement. It seems like a fun class, I like the omnigun. Its nice getting alot of shots off and being able to blind/ KO monsies. How is it at the higher levels? Can it use arrows/bolts as ammo? Does anyone know of a chart of all its abilities at all levels? It's that [gadget] or a bard. Bards look pretty useful, but I think I thought the omnigun was a neat toy... Thanks for the advice!

Kragorn, you asked: Well, I found that my Bard and Gadgeteer combined had most of the Psi's best spells. A few that come to mind: Slow Insanity Armormelt Haste SoulShield Xray Eye for Eye Psionic Blast Of course, Bard and Gadgeteer also have spells in the other areas too, but it just seemed each of the others has something I couldn't find elsewhere. I've found the Bard and Priest are (and somewhat Gadgeteer) a great combination for taking care of most of the defensive/supportive magic, thus leaving the mage, alchemist, and gadgie for offensive, at least as much as possible. The Ninja, though she has two wands, is mainly being built for thrown criticals. Besides, she's a fairy, and just seems to fit in with the others. Sparkle too, mixes well with them. With her trusty bow, she is a ranged critter. Don't know if I'll keep Saxx, just didn't know who to replace him with, as this group is strictly long distance fighting strategy. Something must be working with them, cause they are one mean team! judee
